Revision - Project 2 Genre Composition: Social Media Campaign
My original Project 2 social media campaign consisted of a single Instagram post featuring a side by side exit velocity comparison between a metal and wood bat. While the concept was solid, one post does not suffice for a campaign. It lacked a consistent identity, a content strategy, a persistent rollout of content, as well as a clear call to action. The revised campaign expands to nine posts under the account name GoWoodNCAA, each post serving a distinct purpose. Some of them lead with hard statistics, some use bold visual hooks designed to stop a player mid-scroll, and other build credibility through facts such as the Cape League's wood bat history. The audience was also narrowed from just "baseball players" to draft eligible Division I players specifically which sharpened every caption, stat choice, and visual decision across the revised campaign. The revision closes with a concrete three step call to action: share, tag a teammate, sign a petition, transforming the original single post into a full persuasive campaign that ties everything together and actually asks its audience to something
